My county property taxes support the school system. Why should I donate to the Mustang Fund?

The Mustang Fund pays for educational enhancements and capital improvements that are not covered by the county budget.  In an era of shrinking public funding, private contributions are critical to the quality of school programs.  Mustang Fund donations will provide for immediate needs that the county is unable to fund, as well as longer-term investments in the school and the community.

How is the Mustang Fund different from PTA contributions?

PTA enrichment funds and all other PTA dollars must be spent in the academic year in which they are raised.  As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, the Mustang Fund has greater latitude in its funding decisions.  Mustang Fund dollars can be rolled over from year to year in order to build a substantial financial base over time, and these investments can be deployed as needed to provide maximum benefit to our local neighborhood school.

The Mustang Fund plans to set aside a significant portion of the funds raised each year to support future endeavors, looking ahead to the possibility of capital improvements, adding a faculty position and/or supplementing key enrichment programs at our school.  By contributing to the Mustang Fund, you are helping Montgomery Elementary achieve the next level of educational excellence – something that would be very difficult to do without much-needed private support from local families and organizations.

How much should I give?

Please give generously, at whatever level you feel is appropriate.  The Mustang Fund’s goal is 100% participation from MES families, and every gift is vitally important.   Please refer to the Individual Giving page for more information.

What is the best way for me to give to the Mustang Fund?

Click on the “Donate” button on this website to pay by credit card online. You may also contribute to the Mustang Fund by check or money order.  Checks should be made out to “The Mustang Fund, Inc.” and sent to 3522 Ashford-Dunwoody Road, #212, Brookhaven, GA 30319.
